Travellers x2: Western Cape Whirlwind 2015
When two people are travelling together, there are bound to be some things that the one didn’t enjoy quite as much as the other one. I think it’s a good idea to reflect on the trip afterwards, to learn from possible mistakes and to better plan for the next one. So… the verdict is out on our Western Cape Whirlwind 2015 trip:
Gareth:
High Point: The car museum in Franschhoek, especially the Ferraris!
Low Point: The flies in the hotel room in Franschhoek.
Comments: Would love to go back.
Holiday Rating: 9/10
Suneé:
High Point: I really loved the time we spent in Franschhoek! It was so interesting to get reacquainted with my French Huguenot roots, and this little corner of France in South Africa is just delightful. Not to mention the delectable dinners we had while there!
Low Point: Getting really seasick (again!) on the trip out to Robben Island. Also, the hotel we stayed in at Franschhoek was on a farm and the amount of flies in our room was just unbearable – and they were quite immune to bug spray as well.
Comments: We need to make more time for local holidays. South Africa is a beautiful country and we should explore more. This trip was mostly to well-known destinations in the Western Cape, but I’d like to return to some of the lesser-trodden paths my country has to offer as well.
Holiday Rating: 9/10
